Zakouma National Park, Chad

 
Zakouma National Park is situated between Sarh and Am Timan, in the south of Chad. It is first National Park of Chad created in 1963 and has an area of about 3000 square kilometres (1200 square miles). One can see large herds of elephants, as well as giraffes, wildebeests, monkeys, lions, and a large variety of antelopes and birdlife. The fauna of the Park includes 44 species of large mammals, and 25 species of birds.
