| World Heritage Sites in Nepal Nepal World Heritage sites are divided into Cultural World Heritages sites and Natural World Heritage Sites. Cultural World Heritage sites are Kathmandu Valley and Lumbini. Natural World Heritage Sites are Chitwan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park. The Kathmandu Valley, was inscribed in October 1979, consists of Seven Monumental zones which include 1. Three historical palaces of (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur). The royal centers which are examples of Newari architectural design 2. Two Hindu Temples of (Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan) 3. Two Buddhist stupas (Swayambunath and Boudhanath). Nepal Heritage Sites - Cultural 1. Kathmandu Valley. (Including Seven Monuments) 2. Lumbini, the Birthplace of the Lord Buddha. Nepal World Heritage Sites - Natural 1. Royal Chitwan National Park. 2. Sagarmatha National Park. Tentative List For World Heritage Sites 1. Panauti (The early medieval architectural complex). 2. Tilaurakot ( Shakya Kingdom archaeological remains.) 3. Mustang (Cave architecture of Muktinath Valley). 4. Gorkha (The medieval palace complex). 5. Ramagrama (the relic stupa of Lord Buddha). 6. Khokana ( mustard-oil seed industrial heritage of village). |
