The clinker built boats and the black-tarred huts of the long shore fisherman are all that lie on the shingle beach between the North sea (once known as the German ocean) and the Wentworth Hotel. Step inside the Wentworth, owned and managed by three generations of the Pritt Family since 1920, and the country house atmosphere of spacious lounges, with comfortable sofas, fresh flowers and open fires, offers a warm welcome and plenty of room to unwind. In the summer, enjoy an informal alfresco lunch in the sunken terrace garden and in the evening enjoy dinner in our elegant candlelit restaurant with menus using fresh local produce. The restaurant currently has 2AA Rosettes. Upstairs the 28 bedrooms are carefully furnished and vary in size. Many have sea views with binoculars provided to scan the horizon. In Darfield House opposite the main hotel there are 7 bedrooms that are particularly spacious and guests staying here have the additional use of secluded patio garden. All the bedrooms have television, radio and telephone and all have en-suite bathrooms. The Wentworth has its own car park for 30 cars with additional parking outside the hotel.

With a fine tradition of hospitality stretching back more than 85 years, the Pritt family take great pride in the Wentworth Hotel’s rich history and its long record of high standards. Nevertheless, the hotel has changed over time to meet the changing requirements of today's guests. All of the hotel’s 35 en suite rooms are bright, cheerful and welcoming, with many rooms offering wonderful views of the sea. All rooms have a TV, radio and telephone. The restaurant has received 2 AA Rosettes for its outstanding food. The menu changes daily to reflect the finest, freshest produce available locally. In many ways, the Wentworth is everything a seaside hotel should be, a charming blend of the traditional and the contemporary.

How to reach for Wentworth Hotel Aldeburgh
Directions from LondonEither head east for the City or East end down Mile End Road and to A12, or head for M25 and then exit onto A12, (Exit no.28 onto A12)Once onto A12 head for Chelmsford, then Colchester, then Ipswich.At the roundabout immediately before Ipswich continue onto the A14 towards Felixstowe and Lowestoft. This road (A12) then goes through Martlesham and passes by Woodbridge. Immediately after the village of Farnham turn right onto the A1094 to Aldeburgh.When in Aldeburgh go straight over the mini roundabout and then after passing the Church on the left, go down the hill, to where you can see the sea. At the bottom of the hill turn left into the Wentworth Raod. The hotel is 300 yards along the road on the right - the car park is on the left.
