Centrally located on Prince's street in the centre of Edinburgh. It is of traditional style and is one of the most distinguished of Edinburgh's principal buildings. It was originally built in 1903 as part of the old Caledonian Railway Station. It is well furbished throughout having undergone extensive refurbishment and renovation. The reception is very large and elegant. All of the bedrooms are of varying shapes and sizes and of differing styles of decor. From some rooms there are views over Princes street gardens and towards Edinburgh Castle.NB:The hotel has advised that the deluxe and castle view rooms are under soft refurbishment. There is also scaffolding on the outside of the building, works will be completed in early July 2005.2NB:There are currently renovation works taking place on the 1st floor and the bar. A temporary bar has been set up in the ground floor restaurant for guests use during the works. There is also scaffolding at the side of the building by the castle view entrance.
