Location. The Minto Hotel is located in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the genteel suburb of Newington, in the lee of Arthur's Seat and one mile south of Princes street and Edinburgh city centre. Hotel Features. Originally two Georgian townhouses, The Minto Hotel has been sensitively refurbished to retain many original period features and overlooks beautifully maintained gardens. Amenities include limited-hours room service and complimentary parking. The hotel's function room is available for conferences. Open daily for lunch and dinner, The Minto Hotel's restaurant serves classic dishes with a modern twist in an intimate atmosphere created with low lighting and music. The Polo Lounge is decorated in soft creams and browns and features mood lighting and a large outside terrace. Buses run every 10 minutes and depart from the bus station next to the terminal. Take the Airlink bus to Princes Street, then continue in the same direction on bus numbers 3, 31, 37, or 47 to the hotel. An open-return pass costs 5 GBP. The N22 night bus runs between midnight and 4 a.m. Taxis wait at a rank next to the terminal, and cost approximately 10 GBP-20 GBP to the city centre and 19 GBP-21 GBP to the hotel, depending on traffic and time of day. Waverley, Edinburgh's main railway station, can be reached by bus or taxi and is 1.5 miles from the hotel. Regular trains leave Waverley for Glasgow and most major destinations throughout Scotland and England. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. Edinburgh city and the Lothian region are served by a good bus network. There are hop-on, hop-off stops for city bus tours throughout central Edinburgh. Black cabs are available from the streets. From the airport, head south east on Jubilee Road. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Eastfield Road. Proceed through two roundabouts, slight left to merge onto the A8/Glasgow Road. Take the Ramp. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A270. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A701/Burdiehouse Road. Continue on the A701 over one roundabout. Continue for about 5km. The Minto Hotel is on the right-hand side.
