Andaz Liverpool Street, is located in an area of London known as 'The City', or the 'The Square Mile' approximately 15 miles from London Heathrow Airport. This area is now globally recognized as the Worlds largest financial centre. As 'the' centre for commerce it has become a base for the largest financial institutions and corporations - all running global operations from here. Surrounding the area are some of the most influential, cultural and historical references to British life. The Andaz Liverpool Street is also is located approximately one mile from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Near Liverpool Street Station, this location is two miles from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, three miles from Big Ben and Saint Paul's Cathedral, four miles from Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park, and five miles from Knightsbridge and Harrods. The hotel was built in 1884 with a major renovation in 2000. References to both modern and classic can be found around the hotel, most notably our striking Rotunda and Gallery spaces, linking our five restaurants and bars. The sophisticated, grand nature of Aurora, the hustle and bustle of Eastway Cafe the archetypal British Pub essence of George, the graceful Japanese intimacy of Miyako and the coastal freshness of Catch and Champagne bar. Rooms on the fifth and sixth floors have a light and airy loft style; those on lower floors have higher ceilings and period features. All rooms feature complimentary high-speed Internet access, ergonomic workstations, cable TV, minibars stocked with organic juices and water, bathrobes, hairdryers, safes, free local telephone calls with voicemail, complimentary laundry / pressing and individual climate control. The jewel in our crown is the Masonic Temple Hall, which is the highlight to our 14 private dining and event rooms with capacity from 10 people to 400. Rates are strictly based on double occupancy. How to reach for Andaz Hotel London
From Heathrow Airport (LHR): Distance to The Great Eastern Hotel is 20 miles, approximately 60 minutes' drive. Getting there. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way into London. It departs from the airport every 15 minutes, and takes 15 minutes to reach Paddington Station in central London. The journey is non-stop and costs 14.50 GBP. Paddington is on the Hammersmith and City, District and Circle, and Bakerloo lines of London's Underground (Tube). Additionally, the airport is on the Piccadilly line of the Underground, which runs directly to Kings Cross, Leicester Square, Knightsbridge, and Green Park underground stations. The journey to central London takes approximately one hour, and trains depart every 10 minutes. A one-day travel pass costs 6.30 GBP, including travel to Heathrow (in zone 6). Black taxis cost approximately 50 GBP to central London. Coaches operate to London Victoria and the rest of the UK, and the airport is also served by local buses. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. The Great Eastern Hotel is a short walk from Liverpool Street Underground station. The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers a cheaper fare. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel, and are valid on buses, trams, trains, and DLR, as well as on the Underground.
