In 1787, Thomas Lord, founder of the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) chose Dorset Square to lay down a cricket ground, which in 1814, moved a mile north to what is now known as London's famed Lord's Cricket Ground.The reception area is small, but so is the hotel. It's very traditional in style and is decorated using dark wood, original oil paintings and plenty of cricket period memorabilia. There is a comfortable, lovely reading room adjacent to the main reception area.
