Built By The Present Owners Grandfather In 1910 The Hotel Is Situated In A Side Street In Belgravia Near Buckingham Palace. The Goring - Now Air-conditioned Has One Of Londons Quietest Locations. The Garden Bar Overlooks Its Beautiful Grounds As Do Many Of The Bedrooms. Everything Is Correct Personal And Courteous.A quiet haven in the centre of London, The Goring is ideally located, adjacent to Buckingham Palace and within walking distance of the Royal parks, London's principal shopping areas and the heart of the West End and Theatreland The Houses of Parliament and Westminster are close by, and we are a mere five minutes walk from direct rail links to Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. The Goring was opened in March 1910 by O.R. Goring, the great grandfather of Jeremy Goring the current owner. Each of the seventy one bedrooms is individually designed and decorated. They are luxuriously appointed, spotlessly maintained and many of them overlook our private garden. The traditional elegance of the lovely restaurant makes it popular for both lunch and dinner. There are also three handsome rooms for private dining, cocktail parties, and special events for family or business. From London Heathrow Airport (LHR): Distance to The Goring is 15 miles, approximately 90 minutes' drive. Getting there. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way into London. It departs from the airport every 15 minutes, and takes 15 minutes to reach Paddington Station in central London. The journey is non-stop and costs 14.50 GBP. Paddington is on the Hammersmith and City, District and Circle, and Bakerloo lines of London's Underground (Tube). On arriving in Paddington, take the District and Circle line, alighting at Victoria. Additionally, the airport is on the Piccadilly line of the Underground, which runs directly to Kings Cross, Leicester Square, Knightsbridge, and Green Park underground stations. The journey to central London takes approximately one hour, and trains depart every 10 minutes. A one-day travel pass costs 6.30 GBP, including travel to Heathrow (in zone 6).
