General Description for The Black Horse Inn Maidstone
VERY IMPORTANT - The pub and restaurant will be closed from Monday 5th January until Monday 12th January for refurbishment and building work. Room and breakfast will still be available during this period at reduced rates, however the pub will close after breakfast and building work will commence from 7.00am. There are other pubs within 5 minutes drive which serve good food.16 beautiful en-suite rooms in a quiet annexe in the grounds. Award winning food, good ales, fine wines and English fruit wines. Situated in the heart of Kent countryside at the foot of the North Downs. Excellent walks and scenery. Al Fresco dining on the terrace in the summer. WI-FI access in all the rooms. Please book for dinner 6.45pm or 8.45pm as restaurant is often fully booked because it is so popular! Sorry - We cannot guarantee a table if you have not booked.

Situated 1 mile east of the A249 via Detling Village and 3.5 miles north-east of Maidstone Town. Just 5 minutes from the M20 but deep in the heart of the countryside Nearest Railway Station is Bearsted: On foot or bicycle, turn left out of the main station entrance, a few hundred yards along and you will come to a small parade of shops, turn left again here into Thurnham Lane. Follow Thurnham Lane uphill for approximately 1 mile under the railway bridge and motorway. You will eventually reach the crossroads with Pilgrims Way and The Black Horse Inn is on your left.
